First attempt a a heron

I created a heron for a plain canvas jacket for my son. It's not brilliant but know I can do better now I have completed the embroidery techniques specialisation course.

I bought a plain canvas jacket from a thrift shop and used DMC threads

I sourced a photo of a heron and traced it onto fabric stabiliser. Then planned what colours I would use. to be honest, I completely winged it with what colours I had in my stock. I roughly used short and long stitches, I also used 2 colours together for the main wing, as I thought he was looking a bit too blue.
