Bett Norris

Bett Norris is an illustrator and lecturer whose practice is focused towards editorial, publishing and exhibition contexts. Her work often explores themes of human connection and diversity, intending to create artwork that resonates with audiences.

Bett has been commissioned as an illustrator for organisations including UNESCO, The National Portrait Gallery, The New York Times, Routledge, British Red Cross, The Royal College of Midwives, The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, Art Fund and The School of Life. She has illustrated five non-fiction books, published by HarperCollins, Ronshin, and Callisto.

She has also created artwork for advertising projects with brands including Airbnb, Mars, Campari, Calvin Klein, Waitrose, Boots, Ocado, Avon and P&O. She is currently represented by creative production agency Making Pictures.

Bett leads contextual and practice-based modules on the USW BA (Hons) Illustration programme, and has been an invited speaker on the UWE MA Graphic Arts, and City of Bristol College’s ‘Work Forward’ programmes.

In 2019, Bett was invited to deliver a talk about her practice and facilitated a workshop at the Apple Store, Carnaby Street, as part of their ‘Apple Today’ project.

In 2022, she was invited by The Association of Illustrators to deliver a talk for their ‘Inside Illustration’ project.
