Ricardo Ales

My name is Ricardo. My friends and loved ones call me Ricci (pronounced like Ricky) and my last name is pronounced like “Alice”. I grew up watching cartoons in excess, which I attribute to my eventual interest in the work of artists like Alex Pardee and therefore, my passion for ink work.

I’ve been drawing my entire life, but grew up with no artists in my home or my circle. I drew the way any kid draws, often and without guidance. In high school, I gave up on drawing and the thought of being an artist never occurred to me. Once I got to college at the University of California, San Diego intending to major in math, I started drawing again. I couldn’t put my pen down and here we are today.
