I'm a graphic designer and illustrator. I developed one supplemental educational workbook to be used in South Sudan - and I'm hoping to produce more. 3/4 of the adult population is illiterate. What better way to engage them then through the visuals of comic books! My goal for this course is to develop some type of comic that could be inexpensively created and published. South Sudan is the size of France! And the comic book industry there seems completely open! So, I'm hoping that this course will help me "kickstart" some ideas for a country that is extremely poor, mired in civil war, high crime, high unemployment, bad living conditions, and little hope. I did create some characters...Mawan is a boy who has an (imaginary friend) hippo named Tiny. That's about all I got! So, I open to all ideas and suggestions.
