Hello!
My name is Chloe Kempster and I work from my studio in the Leicestershire countryside, England. I studied Fine Art at University, graduating in 2005 and since having a family, have spent 10 years working as a professional Furniture Artist which is a dream come true. I love my job because I get to combine my passion for interiors and sustainable living with being creative.
I am passionate about reuse and create truly unique pieces of furniture. I have very eclectic taste and practice so many different styles of furniture painting but specialise in painterly watercolour effects or hand decorated designs, particularly florals in bold and bright colours. My one-off designs are playful and fun covering a wide range of era's and styles, I believe absolutely everything has potential and that our home should be a reflection of our personality.
I was selected by Annie Sloan as a Painter in Residence in 2020, and currently make regular appearances on the BBC1 TV show Money for Nothing where we transform unwanted items which have been thrown away, and then sell them to make a profit for various charities.
I have also contributed to the following publications, Country Living Mag, Reclaim, House and Home Magazine, The Colourist, The Sunday Times and the Financial Times and I share updates of my experiments in style and colour regularly on social media.
Please come and say hello, I'd love to connect
