Fabien Dendiével

Fabien Dendiével was born in Paris : as a lonely child, he kept himself busy with drawing futuristic urban panoramas and joined the Louvre art school. At the same time, his father introduced him to film photography and Fabien trained as an autodidact.
His practice intensifies when he switches to medium format camera, mastering the light and the frame of his subject as closely as possible. Empty spaces and stripped-down compositions are his favorite exercise, as a method to enhance showing the invisible.
Whether it's the great outdoors of the American West or modern architecture, he treats the composition of his shot like a scene in a movie, waiting for the light to reveal the best of the scenery. Fabien's work remains confidential for some time until he finally decides to produce and sell large format prints in 2019.

Fabien Dendievel naît à Paris : enfant solitaire, il s’occupe en dessinant minutieusement des panoramas urbains futuristes et rejoint l’école du Louvre. En parallèle, son père l’initie à la photographie argentique et Fabien se forme en autodidacte.
Sa pratique s’intensifie lorsqu’il passe au moyen format, maîtrisant au plus près la lumière et le cadre de son sujet. Les espaces vides et compositions dépouillées sont ses exercices favoris, comme une méthode pour mieux montrer l’invisible.
Que ce soient les grands espaces de l’Ouest américain ou de l’architecture moderne, il traite la composition de sa prise de vue comme le plan d’un film, attendant que la lumière en révèle le meilleur.
Le travail de Fabien reste confidentiel quelque temps puis il se décide enfin à produire et vendre des tirages grand format en 2019.
