My name is Nejc and I'm a 3D visualization specialist which basically means I create computer generated imagery of products in cool places that (typically) don't exist in the real world.
I've been working in the field of product visualization for the last 9 years or so and my client list includes Samsung, Dell, Netgear, Arlo, Wild, Pepe Jeans and a couple of others. I really like helping companies grow their brands and so besides creating the images themselves I also like to focus on the brand strategy the images themselves help drive.
As far as my visual style goes, I'm really into moody images. I like putting a sense of emotion into my imagery. I'm also trying to be a stickler for realism and detail.
My beginnings weren't quite straightforward.
For the longest time I didn't even fully realize my profession exists. Sure, I've always been into computers and video games. I also had basic 3D courses as part of my college curriculum but I've never really been drawn to it until I saw my significant other, Natalija, work on her diploma - which was all about 3D. The way she approached it looked fun and the end result was so inspiring that it got me thinking 3D can be lots of fun. Plus, you can make a living out of it.
So I started doing Youtube tutorials and online courses until I thought I had enough knowledge to tackle actual commercial projects. I put my name out there, started kinda slow for sure but eventually I landed a couple of projects and things sort of snowballed from there.
I was always interested in how businesses work and so as I got better creating the actual images I started supplementing my artistic knowledge with business knowledge. After all, if I wanted my images to help my clients grow their businesses I needed to understand how business works.
To this day I find this profession extremely fulfilling as I'm doing something that I find "fun to do" and at the same time I help other people succeed. Lately, I've been also very active creating educational content so that hopefully other people can join in on the fun as well.
