Completing a painting, illustration, or work on paper doesn’t always mean the creative process is over. When a piece is sold, given as a gift, exhibited, or becomes part of a collection, it’s a good idea to include a document that summarizes the most important information about it. A certificate of authenticity helps identify the work, verify its authorship, and provide the buyer or collector with useful information about its characteristics.
