M.Tony Peralta

My name is M.Tony Peralta and I was born/raised and live in New York City. I’m a contemporary artist and creative director with over 20 years of experience in graphic design, art and fashion. I’ve been screen printing for 17 years and learned the art-form under the mentorship of master printer Larry Wright, (who’s worked with Warhol and Rauschenberg.) I have a bachelors degree in Media Art from Long Island University but the majority of my experience has been self taught. Through out my career I have worked on commissions and partnerships with At&t, Unilever, Barcelo Rum, Presidente Beer, Desus and Mero, Nike and even have had my own sneaker with Adidas. My artwork is owned by Junot Diaz, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Swizz Beats and his wife Alicia Keys to name a few. Two of my art pieces have been exhibied and added to the permanent collection at the Smithsonian Anacostia Community Museum and have been featured in the New York Times for my “RECONNECTED” series.

In 2005, while working as a handbag designer I started an online clothing company called, The Peralta Project. Being a fan of streetwear, I’ve always had my own ideas for t-shirts, so I created the brand as a side project. A couple of years later, I switched the concept of the brand from a streetwear brand to a latino lifestyle brand. I focused on hyperlocal designs and created a niche for myself by designing clothing that represented my Latino and Dominican roots. This natural progression opened up a new lane for me, since at the time, there wasn’t many brands focusing on the latino market. The business grew to a point where I was able to do it full time and in 2017 I opened up my first workshop/brick and mortar in my hometown neighborhood of Washington Heights and Inwood called Taller Peralta.
