Introduction
The Neon Fox - painted in ink tea and alcohol with fluorescent and gold ink details to capture the late night encounters of the urban foxes in Leytonstone!

Supplies
Graphite, Ink, Tea, Alcohol, Acrylic Paint, Gold Leaf

The Neon Fox
I created an original painting and limited edition print of the Neon Fox to accompany my exhibition in Leytonstone East London.
I began with a simple pencil drawing and then added blue ink to lay down the shadow areas first - after this I built up the colours of the fox in warmer tones using tea but allowing the blue inks to come through. Over the top of this I added more expressive ink marks and finally some intense fluorescent pink accents and gold ink to brighten the highlighted areas.

Adding cool blue inks to the drawing
it's easy to lose faith at this stage but.... trust the process

Adding tea and warmer tones
adding warmer tones using tea over the blue areas as well!

Adding detail with fountain pen
Using fountain pen ink (water soluble) to add finer details

Adding vibrant colour - nearly finished!
Almost finished - the neon fox comes together when the brighter colours are added!
