My name is Agnieszka. I am here because I love Paige Toon's work, of course. It will not be a surprise that her books and she herself inspired me to be thinking of writing at all. I followed a few interviews she gave and she makes the impression of an extremely nice and warm person. The way she is talking about her work and her novels, opened my eyes. It was very interesting and intriguing to listen about her inspirations and how the ideas for her novels were born.
That is why I took this opportunity - the course prepared by my favorite writer, to organize and activate whatever is developing in my head. I have been thinking about my own novel for a long time now. Some say, that every person's life is a base for a novel, so maybe mine should be the motif of a novel too?
My main motivator is the fact that being Polish I lived in another country for 10 years of my life – in Ireland. The time I spent there was really wonderful, and memories I have are still very vivid. The country that hosted me for so many years will forever be in my heart. I feel setting up the story in Ireland would be my tribute to the country I consider my second homeland. I have so much to tell, but I don’t want this to be a travel book or a guide, so being inspired by Paige I will combine my memories and funny facts with a love story.
I used to write some poetry, especially when I had hard times, broken heart. Poems were kind of healing and catharsis for me. Those all landed in m drawer. At some point I shared a few I felt are good at website dedicated to inspiring poetry writers.
So I am getting down to my writing! Wish me luck 😊
