Introduction
Cars dominate up to 90% of public spaces, creating pollution, safety risks, and barriers to a more active urban lifestyle. I’ve been exploring how design can help reclaim these spaces for pedestrians and cyclists in a way that’s both functional and inviting.
That’s how Sites came to life—a line of urban furniture designed to redefine mobility in the city. Through adaptable modules like signage, bike racks, ashtrays, decorative planters, and lighting fixtures, this project aims to create more accessible, people-centered environments. The goal is to equip public spaces with elements that encourage movement, interaction, and a healthier urban experience, free from automotive dominance.

Supplies
I used Solidworks for 3D modeling and Keyshot for Rendering. I also edited images in photoshop to create montages to better explain the use and scale of the products
Step 1: Detecting a problem
The predominance of cars in public spaces, occupying up to 90%, causes significant environmental and social problems, such as air pollution, lack of physical activity, and increased risk of traffic accidents. Temporary solutions, such as trash cans or tapes, are not effective and can cause more confusion.

Step 2: Ideation
"Sites" proposes a line of urban furniture designed to delimit areas intended for pedestrian circulation. Based on adaptable modules for various situations and locations, this proposal includes signage, bike racks, ashtrays, decorative planters, and lighting fixtures. This set of elements offers the possibility of equipping spaces to promote participation and mobility on foot and by bicycle in environments free of automotive pollution.

Step 3: Development
The modules from "Sitios" offer the versatility to adapt to various scenarios and events. By incorporating accessories and utilizing the flexibility of aluminum to combine colors and textures, it is possible to adjust the furniture according to the specific needs of each space.
The modules can be equipped with a variety of accessories to meet various functions, reducing the need to produce a different product for each requirement. This encourages creativity and adapts to the diverse needs of use.
