Lost Between Worlds

This project is a surreal photomontage that explores the feeling of being disconnected from reality while still being present within it. I created an imaginary landscape where an astronaut stands in a vast field of red flowers, surrounded by mountains and an oversized moon.

The astronaut represents isolation and curiosity, while the vibrant colors and unrealistic scale of elements aim to evoke a dreamlike atmosphere. Through this piece, I wanted to combine elements of nature and space to create a contrast between the familiar and the unknown.

Description:
In this step, I created the entire surreal composition from start to finish using Adobe Photoshop. I began by placing the mountain landscape as the background and adjusting its perspective and lighting to set the scene.

Next, I added the oversized moon behind the mountains to create a dramatic and unrealistic atmosphere. I carefully blended it with the sky using masking and soft brushes to make it feel natural within the composition.

After that, I inserted the field of red flowers in the foreground to add depth and contrast. The vibrant color helps guide the viewer’s attention toward the center of the image.

Then, I placed the astronaut as the main subject. I adjusted its scale, position, and shadows so it integrates well with the environment. I also edited the helmet by adding a colorful abstract texture to enhance the surreal feeling.

Finally, I applied color grading using adjustment layers such as Gradient Map, Color Balance, and Curves to achieve the pink and purple tones. This final step unifies all elements and strengthens the dreamlike mood of the artwork.
