Introduction
My inspiration came from one of my trips to England. I remember York as one of the most beautiful towns I've ever been to.

Supplies
I used Arrtx acrylic markers, a regular sketchbook (which isn't ideal, but I don't have any special paper for acrylic markers), a pencil, some washi tape and a small ruler.

References
I used Google Maps to find the exact place I had in mind and remembered from my trip. I took three pictures, and I decided to use the last one as reference for my painting because it's the one that focuses more on the cathedral.

Testing colours
I used a separate page to see what the colours would look like together and to clean the tip of the markers after painting. I'm not able to blend colours because I don't have the right paper, but I can still create some shades by painting on top of wet paint, and I sometimes use my finger to smudge or spread the paint to create a bit of a gradient.

Painting
I wanted to start by adding base colours to the whole painting, but my problem is that I always get caught in the details. I ended up paiting element after element and correcting things that didn't look good.

Finished painting
I tried to change the atmosphere by changing the light and the sky, since the original picture was grey and dark, but I'm not entirely happy with how the shadows look. I'll keep experimenting and see if I can get a more convincing result next time.
