Hey! My name is Axelle and I am a graphic designer and illustrator.
I have been self-employed for 15 years and am based in Beaujolais near Lyon, France.
Passionate about photography and design since a young age, I never considered embarking on artistic studies after secondary school. I began my professional life in law, where I did not fully flourish. In 2006, I decided to quit my job and return to school.
After a year of studying full-time, I obtained a University Diploma in Communication and Graphic Creation (DUCCI), with honors, at the University Lumière Lyon 2.
I started in mass marketing as an independent graphic designer, then I very quickly had the opportunity to become interested in branding by creating logos, visual identities and tailor-made photo reports for medium sized businesses.
Over time, my work slowly evolved towards illustration.
In 2023 and 2024 I had the opportunity to produce illustrations of geo-events for the Beaujolais UNESCO Global Geopark.
I still practice photography, but now only recreationally.
My artistic influences range from the Victorian era to Modernism, including Art Deco, Bauhaus, Pop Art, photography and naturalist drawing, and even Naive Art...
But I mainly find my inspiration in the nature around me and during my daily walks in the forest with my dog.
I can also be inspired by music, a historical documentary or the architecture of a building... because my universe is not limited to a single medium or style.
Whatever the project, I always draw from the heart and let myself be carried away by the momentum of the moment.
Today, Surface Design is obvious to me, combining my ambitions as an illustrator, my skills as a graphic designer and my fascination for recurring elements!
For 2 years, I have been taking courses on Domestika, to improve my drawing skills and move towards the creation of graphic and illustrated patterns.
I hope to open my online store soon, maybe work with a few textile publishers and finally earn a full-time living with my designs!

Hey ! Je m’appelle Axelle et je suis designer graphique et illustratrice.
Je travaille à mon compte depuis 15 ans et suis installée dans le Beaujolais près de Lyon, en France.
Passionnée par la photographie et le design depuis mon plus jeune âge, je n'ai pourtant pas envisager de me lancer dans des études artistiques, après le secondaire. J’ai débuté ma vie professionnelle dans le droit, où je ne m’épanouissais pas complètement. En 2006, j’ai donc décidé de quitter mon travail et de reprendre des études.
Après une année à étudier à temps plein, j’ai obtenu un Diplôme Universitaire en Communication et création Graphique (DUCCI), avec mention, à l’Université Lyon 2.
J’ai débuté dans le marketing de masse comme graphiste indépendante, puis j’ai très vite eu l’occasion de m’intéresser au branding en faisant des logos, identités visuelles et reportages photo sur mesure pour des PME.
Au fil du temps, mon travail a doucement évoluer vers l’illustration.
En 2023 et 2024 j’ai eu notamment l’occasion de réaliser les illustrations des géo-evènements pour le Géoparc Mondial UNESCO du Beaujolais.
Je pratique toujours la photographie, mais maintenant uniquement à titre récréatif.
Mes influences artistiques vont de l’époque Victorienne au Modernisme, en passant par l’Art Deco, le Bauhaus, le Pop Art, la photo et le dessin naturaliste, ou encore l’Art Naïf …
Mais je trouve principalement mon inspiration dans la nature qui m’entoure et lors de mes ballades quotidienne en forêt avec mon chien.
Je peux aussi être inspirée par une musique, un documentaire historique ou l’architecture d’un bâtiment… car mon univers ne se limite pas à un seul médium ou style.
Quelque soit le projet, je dessine toujours avec le coeur et me laisse porter par l’élan du moment.
Aujourd’hui le Design de surface s’impose à moi comme une évidence, combinant à la fois mes ambitions d’illustratrice, mes compétences de graphiste et ma fascination pour les éléments récurrents !
Depuis 2 ans, je suis des cours (notamment sur Domestika), pour me perfectionner en dessin et m’orienter vers la création de motifs graphiques et illustrés.
J’espère ouvrir ma boutique en ligne prochainement, peut être travailler avec quelques éditeurs de textile et enfin gagner ma vie à plein temps avec mes design !
