Ink Mastery: From Design to Tattoo Specialization

Tania Maia is a Brazilian tattoo artist based in Lima, Peru, who specializes in the blackwork technique. Despite graduating in fashion design from the Santa Marcelina University of São Paulo in Brazil, in 2013, she left the profession to become a full-time tattoo artist. The influence of the fashion world is evident in the details of her tattoo artworks.

She has participated in three editions of the NY Empire State Tattoo Expo, one of the most renowned tattoo artist conventions in the United States. Outside the tattoo world, she has produced illustrations for various collaborations including the German cooking and surfing book Reisen Surfen Kochen in 2015, as well as projects for the BarBarian brewery and Marriott hotels, to name just a few.

Florencia Landaeta, also known as Polilla Tattoo, combines her professional training as a designer with her passion for the art of tattooing, using pointillism and fine lines to bring unique tattoos to life.

Co-founder of Estudio El Bosque in Santiago (Chile), Polilla’s graphic style is full of floral motifs, leading her to work with major brands like Caterpillar, Marley Coffee, and Levi's, as well as tattoo studios across the United States.

Diana Félix is ​​a graphic designer by profession, but has been dedicating herself to the creation of signature tattoos for over four years.

Diana admires female strength and energy, which is why she specializes in creating female portraits and designs that reflect the duality of people. Her work is also strongly influenced by Japanese-inspired graphic elements.

Juan Pablo Molina started his career as an art teacher after graduating in visual arts and education. Since 2015 however, he has been dedicated solely to the art of tattooing and these days is known as Molina Tattoo. He is the founder and owner of Nomade Tattoo Studio, a renowned tattoo studio in the coastal town of Viña del Mar in Chile where he receives international guests and tattoo artists. His work is distinguished for combining illustration, realism, and watercolor-style techniques, where the use of color is the star in each and every one of his tattoos.

In each of his tattoos, Juan Pablo applies the knowledge of aesthetic, color, and composition that he learned from his studies in visual arts. He also had the opportunity to work in the design and graphic production sector for five years, where he perfected his use of design software and later complemented it with digital illustration.

Throughout his time as a freelance graphic designer and illustrator, Juan Camilo Mazutier developed a signature style that he now applies to his tattoos. He primarily does blackwork and fine line tattoos and specializes in botanical and nature designs. With several years' industry experience, he's earned a reputation as Mazvtier on social media and has his own private studio in Lima, Peru.
Throughout his career, he has illustrated and designed logos, merchandise, and album covers for internationally recognized bands, which was how he got started in tattooing. He has traveled around the world and worked in different tattoo studios in Europe, the United States, and South Africa. He has also participated in a number of conventions and won first place in the Blackwork category at the 2018 Sudaka Tattoo Fest in Lima.
