Nancy Sharpe

I’m a retired primary school teacher. I’ve always had an interest in art and nature. This interest has been evident since my early childhood. I had the good luck to be born on a farm in the countryside of Scotland and was often in the company of my grandfather who had an avid interest in nature which he happily shared with me. My Mum was also very creative and she took time to share her skills and encourage me in the development of my creativity. Also, one of my earliest gifts was a blackboard and chalk and I was frequently found trying to replicate the world around me or create replicas using the clay from a local stream. This interest in drawing and other aspects of art continued throughout my childhood and continued into adulthood. In fact , I was often called upon to take charge of art, craft and design activities within the schools where I worked. Now, I hope to be able to develop my skills further.
