Gouache Paintings
This is a collection of my gouache paintings that I have done over the years during my free time. These are a collection of places and things that I just had a blast painting.
I started painting with a oil-painting set but later found that it was just so exhausting to set up and carry around. I found that gouache was a nice medium between acrylics and watercolors PLUS, it dries fast! I just love the vibrant colors gouache has, I just love carrying them with me whenever I travel now.
I am never letting go of gouache!

What do I like to paint:
I love just going outside to explore around, picking what I like to paint is always one of my favorite parts of the process. I have to be mindful about how much I want to paint but also I want to paint something that is interesting. Some buildings and objects may look mundane but the shifts in colors are what draws me in. If I don't finish the painting on site in time, I always bring it home to touch it up. The camera on my phone is the best tool for me to capture places I want to paint when I don't have my painting setup with me :)

Painting setup:
My painting setup is pretty simple. I mostly use windsor newton and holbein gouache paints. The quality of their paints are so vibrant. I also like to keep my setup pretty simple so I just grab them to go when I paint outside.

Size:
These paintings may look big but but they are never bigger than half a piece of printer paper. Painting a smaller size helps me save time and if time allows me to finish during my paint session outside. It also allows me to pick and choose what I want to paint without feeling overwhelmed. Maybe someday I might paint something bigger :)

Beautiful project and very well presented :)
@microbians thank you!
I love your gouache paintings Susan! What sketchbook do you use? The paper looks like it can be torn out very easily and it's very flat! Maybe you can share a gouache painting course one day?
teacher I love your work very much, please keep doing more courses
No idea why this isn’t a course, amazing gouache paintings.
