Digital Fitting INFERNO RAGAZZI x KAPPA

Entering the realm of digital fashion is a great addition when working with characters. I love the combination of abstract elements like unusual body shapes and proportions, plain, bold & colorful textures combined with more realistic fabric & clothing that is even simulated so it gives a hyperreal touch to the overall look.

When INFERNO RAGAZZI created the matching outfit as a collaboration with KAPPA it was the perfect playground to explore this field and dress up one of my characters called "PPIE" who appears in more artistic, sophisticated vibe then my usual fun and silly worlds.

Working with Marvelous Designer gave me the opportunity to recreate the outfit in the digital space and apply the vibrant pattern onto the fabric.
With the rigged character it was easy to try different dynamic poses with different techniques such as using motion capture data from MIXAMO.

Beside the still renderings there were tons of tests made also with a "drunken master" walkcycle and other experiments.

Based on the pattern with its vibrant colors I wanted to create a scheme that underlines the outfit and helps it pop.
The intense pink used as the abstract skin color is bold yet makes the outfit pop due to the generated contrast.
