Tati Abaurre

Hi, I'm Tati! I'm an illustrator and pattern designer from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, living near Toronto, Canada. I'm an illustrator of everything cute and sweet, and I love to create joyful patterns that celebrate the beauty of everyday life, while adding a touch of cuteness to everything I create.

I grew up surrounded by art and beautiful patterns, which is something I've always loved and carried in my heart. It never ceases to amaze me how much joy items of our everyday life can bring us through design. I love to surround myself with art and it's my greatest joy to be able to also share the beauty I see in the world through heartwarming designs and prints.

I have a bachelor's degree in architecture and a masters degree in green building and sustainability, which is also one of my passions. Soon after graduating, while taking a kids illustration course at Emily Carr University of Art + Design in Vancouver, I felt my love for surface pattern design reignite and I was immediately drawn to the fascinating world of kids patterns and illustrations.

Since then I have licensed my work to be sold on a variety of products including kids swimwear, swaddles, children's books, kids decor, nursery wallpaper, kids art prints, kids pyjamas, greeting cards and fabric. My clients include Little Sleepies, FIGO Fabrics, LILIPINSO, Up with Paper, YOYO Books, Chic.Mic, Stormy Knight, Bonbon Swim and Calypso cards.

My greatest inspiration is nature, flowers, birds, cute animals and my lovely son Leo who inspires me to create happy and fun children's patterns.
