I’m a 45yr Mum to one daughter. I work a full time office job while trying to build a side hustle doing what i’m passionate about - all things creative. From crochet, Macrame, and my newest addition Polymer Clay. My biggest weakness however is marketing and understanding my target audience and how to drive sales.I dislike social media and despite being slightly extroverted I struggle putting my face in front of a camera. I know all of which are paramount to build my network brand and my business.
I struggle to find the time to focus and learn these key things while I’m working full time and the time i do get i just want to create.
I’m very fortunate that whatever new creative medium I choose to work with, I can successfully master in short time frames but all of this becomes pointless really if i can’t sell my products and drive traffic to purchase my creations. I also tend to find i end up with these stumbling blocks like working out i can’t touch or breathe in any resins, to finish off pieces the way I want to due to hyper allergic reactions which result in the skin peeling from my hands and face. This was a kick in the gut given i love the finished look of an earring with a resin topped domed finish. I started my online handmade gifts in 2020 and i can still go 6-9 months without a single order but I can help but to keep on going and creating as it’s also my sense belonging and therapeutic for my mind.
