Absence of Daylight is a self portrait series by Eivind Hansen. The series is an ongoing project and was initiated on November 9th 2019 as an attempt to actively challenge his own knowledge of light in order to become more confident in creative lighting.

The series Absence of Daylight explores the topic of Seasonal Affective Disorder which is a type of depression related to the changes of the seasons. Having lived most of his life in the most northern reaches of Norway the photographer has a deep connection to long and dark winter months which has heavily influenced the outcome of this project.
