Introduction
This was one of my most interesting commissions ever, as I don't normally draw people! However, I loved the concept and ending up really enjoying the process of drawing a farmer with his cattle, out in the beautiful country side.

Supplies
0.03 Uni Fineliner
Stonehenge paper in White
The Farmer
The farmer was the focal point of this drawing, so it was extremely important I drew him correctly right away, as you cannot erase fineliner pens. Working from several old photos, I added so much detail to this portrait (his face was only about 1 inch!)

The Cattle
After I completed most of the farmer, minus his feet (those would come later!) I started illustrating the cattle. Each cow had their own unique personality, which I really wanted to show in this drawing.

Finishing up the Cattle
I worked back and forth, between drawing the cattle's faces and bodies. Each cow had their own tag with their own adorable name!

The Foreground
Once the cattle were placed within the piece, I started drawing the grass and stream. I used hundreds and hundreds of short little pen strokes to give the grass lots of texture.

The Background
There was a whole herd of cattle on this farm, so I wanted to include quite a few grazing in the background. They had to be much small to show that they were way off in the distance, compared to the farm and the surrounding cattle.

And Done!
This massive project took a full month and a half to draw. It was so rewarding putting my skills to the test and drawing a landscape and a person, rather than my usual interiors. I would love to work on another project like this again.
