I started animating at a very young age. I studied a degree in traditional animation. Just before computers came in. I went to work in television with my animation, film production and infront of the camera. I took up pottery as a hobby. Which then took over and became a business. Got lost in the new world of technology. Returned to university. Studied Multimedia with electives in computer 3D animation. I found the technical side too restraining, getting in the way of telling the story through the character. I felt i was not able to bring people into the character, to feel empathy or a connection with the characters due to how much concentration it tool to manipulate the 3D character and its environment. Just waiting for a way to mash my traditional way with today’s technology. To do a Helen mash. To make it my own.
