Samurai

I created this after seeing a striking photograph of a man posing with a Samurai mask. It seemed like there was an interesting story to the image, one I wanted to explore through textured line and unusual colours to give it a kind of fantasy feel. J.C. Leyendecker was a large influence for the style of background: the circle framing the Samurai's head and mask, with horizontal lines balancing out the left and right sides of the composition.
