Christian Koivumaa is an artist who specializes in watercolor landscapes. He grew up in Sweden, surrounded by his father’s oil-painted landscape paintings and , although he spent much of his free time sketching, Christian first committed himself to a career in sports. After nine Swedish karate championships, an injury forced him to quit and rediscover his love of watercolor as a creative outlet.
Since then, he’s spent the last 12 years developing his unique technique which has seen him become one of the top-selling artists in Sweden and have his work exhibited at leading galleries. Christian also shares his work with over 20K followers on Instagram and teaches watercolor painting to others who are interested in the art.

PlusMr Koivumaa has a wonderful style that combines loosely painted elements with details and thus creates a lot of atmosphere. As a beginner, I can follow his explanations and the creation of a painting very well, which I sometimes found difficult with other teachers. In this course, you learn even more about how he came to painting and can observe his development.
