What's included in this course?
Start the course by getting to know your teacher Cristian Salomoni. He tells you about how his interest in understanding human behavior led him to his current line of work. He also shares some of his major influences and explains how they have inspired him throughout his career.
Begin with the basics and learn about the importance of communication and how it can help you achieve your personal and professional goals—or do just the opposite. Identify your target client and discover a practical psychological tool you can use to tailor your message to your audience's personality. Analyze the differences between verbal and nonverbal communication and the role each plays in a presentation.
Next, focus on verbal communication and what you want to say with your words. Study your pitch to highlight key points and structure it concisely so your audience can easily understand your project, product, or idea. Cristian teaches you a set of techniques to win over your audience and shows you how to avoid and fix the most common mistakes made during a presentation. He also covers what types of visual aids you can use, how much information to include, and what's best left out.
Now that you know what you're talking about, it's time to discover the secrets to nonverbal communication. Learn how to control the four key variables: facial expressions, gestures, posture, and appearance. Then, explore other important concepts of nonverbal communication like haptics (use of touch), proxemics (personal space), paralinguistics (tone, inflection, silence, etc.) and chronemics (use of time).
Finally, review and reflect on what you've learned and how you can apply those concepts in your daily life, whether it's for a presentation, a speech, a meeting, or an interview. Cristian wraps up the course by giving you some tips on how to dive deeper into the subject and continue to hone your communication skills.
