Daniel Valero is the Mexican architect and textile designer behind Mestiz. Founded in 2015, its underlying aim is to create textiles and other items with a strong regional identity, combining traditional techniques with new design methodologies.
Throughout his career, he has been recognized with a Dimueble national furniture design award and received a National Fund for Culture and the Arts (FONCA)/ENSAD applied arts grant, as well as a place on the British Council's Housewarming artist residency. He has also taken part in exhibitions including Miami Design and Collectible in Brussels and had his work published in magazines such as The New York Times Magazine, Vogue Paris, and on the 2021 cover of AD México y Latinoamérica.
