Sokina Guillemot has always been fascinated by fabrics, from the ones her mother brought back from her travels to the materials she turns into curtains, scarves, or cuddly toys. She likes to convert them into works of art in a style that's as whimsical and colorful as it is graphic and flowery. When she paints, she reconnects with the childish joy of creating and gives free rein to her desires.
Sokina has collaborated with the Musée d'Art Moderne du Luxembourg and the Musée de l'Immigration in Paris, as well as with brands such as Des Petits Hauts and Caselio. She has also published a book with Hachette, L’atelier de peinture sur soie : techniques et créations.
