Teacher Plus
Graphic Designer and Fiber Artist

Sara Pastrana is a graphic designer and fiber artist based in Los Angeles, California. She has worked as a graphic designer for more than 14 years since studying the subject at university. She felt a strong desire to pursue a creative outlet different to her day job, where she was able to work with her hands, and started making embroidery art in 2012. She began experimenting with different types or materials until she found her passion for working with wood and paper.

Embroidering with unconventional materials and learning to build custom panels allowed Sara to develop both her creative and technical skills. Sara has established her niche of combining woodworking technology with traditional, hand-crafted embroidery. She later founded her own business, Flourishing Fibers, where she sells kits, equipment, and her pieces, and she also shares her work with over 15K followers on Instagram.
