Learn to create an illustration based on a photo using analog techniques like ink hatching and action painting

How do you express your feelings and emotions? For some, it's through words, for others, images. For artist Sara Paglia, illustration is her go-to form of expression; she loves to capture the fleeting looks, movements, and moments of everyday life in ink compositions, using hatching and action painting to give them her signature style.

In this online course, she teaches you how to use hatching and drip painting techniques to compose a unique illustration with personal meaning. Begin with a series of exercises to warm up your hand before choosing a reference photo and transferring it to paper with the help of a grid. Then add light and shadow to give your piece depth and bring it to life with spots of color. Learn to portray your feelings on paper and create a compelling illustration.
