Jelena Saveljeva is an expert on the subject: she studied at the embroidery atelier that works for the British royal family, and then founded her own school. The Lunéville crochet is a particular needle with a wooden handle, which became widespread in France around the 1800s. It allows you to simply embroider with thread or insert different types of crystals, beads and sequins, transforming any item of clothing or accessory into a precious jewel.

What is this course's project?
The final project of the course consists in making a series of embroideries for a pullover or other item of clothing of your choice, using Lunéville crochet and applying beads and sequins of different sizes.

Requirements and materials
To follow the course you will need a Lunéville crochet hook, various sized embroidery needles, scissors, a round or rectangular frame, washable pens to transfer the design, tissue paper and water-soluble canvas. To make the embroidery you will use colored embroidery threads, sequins, beads of various types, organza and a pullover for the final project.

Jelena Saveljeva began her education at the Lesage school in Paris, owned by Chanel and Hand and Lock in London, an embroidery atelier working for the army and the royal family. In 2018, she won a Swarovski contest that gave her access to the Swarovski archives that are closed to the public. In 2018 I opened the Haute Couture Embroidery School with the aim of preserving and handing down these centuries-old manual techniques, revisited in a modern and creative key.
