Bring felted wool items to life, manipulate them frame by frame, and make your own short films.
Andrea Love’s art is anything but ordinary. As a fiber artist and animator, she combines her love of felt needling with animation to bring her work to life. She turns simple ideas into lifelike scenes, all with a little wool and the magic of stop motion.
Andrea grew up dreaming of making films. Her first job was as a video store clerk. With unlimited rentals, she discovered the work of experimental animators that would later inspire her own projects. As a freelance artist, Andrea has shown work at the Tribeca Film Festival and Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Market and has collaborated with the United Nations, Google, and Disney. She has also amassed millions of followers on Instagram and TikTok, where she has found a solid niche in making short-form content with engaging storytelling.
In this online course, Andrea guides you through the fundamentals of needle felting and stop motion to create 3D felted items for short animations using a simple phone app. Make little sculptures, build a set, prepare the camera and lights, and bring your stories to life, making your wool creations move frame by frame!

PlusGreat course for an introduction to both stop motion and needle felting. I would love to see more from Andrea Love (3D characters and props perhaps?) and also about Dragonframe. This has been very insightful for starting my own stop motion projects and considering the use of needle felting which is very versatile.
