You’ll work in Logic Pro or any other DAW you’re comfortable with. Along the way you’ll tighten timing without killing the groove, swap or layer sounds when something’s missing, shape transients and dynamics, and build believable drum rooms with reverbs, impulse responses and studio emulations from tools like Universal Audio.
By the end, you’ll know how to build a full kit from scratch—kick, snare, cymbals and the room around them—so everything sits together like a real performance instead of a stock preset. The approach works for rock, pop, indie or any project that needs acoustic‑leaning drums without an acoustic setup.

You’ll learn how to take loops, samples, stems and MIDI parts and turn them into a drum kit that actually feels like it belongs together. We’ll start with picking sounds, then dig into timing, dynamics and the small choices that give a kit its character. You’ll get hands-on with audio editing, fixing and reshaping generated parts, and pulling everything together so the kit plays like one instrument instead of a pile of clips.
You’ll try out looser, more human quantization, build layered kicks and snares, shape transients and create believable room space with reverbs and studio sims. You’ll also put together a full internal mix: direct mics, layers, bleed and room tones balanced until the drums sit in the track naturally, without that stiff or overprocessed feel.
