Cristina Toma

My name is Elena Cristina Toma, and I am a fashion designer and stylist. After completing my studies at the Istituto di Moda Burgo in Milan, I had the privilege of collaborating with Mariuccia Mandelli (KRIZIA) for twelve seasons on the first line, an experience that deeply shaped my creative journey.

Since 2008, I have been developing my brand, TOMA, where I strive to tell a story through each creation. I focus primarily on footwear and accessories, working with great attention to detail and the tactile quality of materials. For me, craftsmanship is at the heart of every project because there is no art without craftsmanship—it is where aesthetics, culture, and life converge.

I carry with me the traditions of my childhood in Romania, a vivid memory that intertwines with the energy and creativity of Milan, the city I moved to in 1998 and now call home. Here, I find continuous inspiration in the plastic and figurative arts, in the forms, colors, and lines that this city constantly renews and reimagines.

Since 2010, I have embraced Japanese art, practicing Ikebana, Japanese Painting, and Calligraphy. Since 2019, I have also developed a passion for Kabbalah and Hebrew Calligraphy. These paths allow me to explore new perspectives and inspirations, always with sincerity, humility, and steadfast dedication. For me, creating means transforming ideas and inspirations into something tangible that tells stories, evokes emotions, helps us grow, and makes us better.
