A course by Laurence Vallières
Laurence Vallières is a Montreal-based sculptor with a degree in ceramics. Shortly after graduating, she decided to organize her own art show and built a huge cardboard statue to commemorate the event. The piece was an instant hit and propelled her career thanks to exposure on social media. She has since made cardboard her material of choice, as it’s accessible, eco-friendly, and easy to scale.
Laurence’s sculptures reflect her views on the environment and question humankind’s relationship with it. She has exhibited her work in galleries around the world as well as major festivals, including Burning Man in the US and the MURAL festival in Canada. She has also collaborated with brands like Carhartt WIP, Patrón Tequila, and TikTok.

PlusThis is an exceptionally brilliant and unusual course to take. I was very interested in this art form as I am a papier-mâché artist and I felt like it could help me in building armature’s. She is very precise and informative and does superb job of teaching her craft if she were to teach a advanced course I would certainly take it.
I am curious as to where to find the form that she spoke of in the last video I do not see a link to that anywhere on this site.
