What's included in this course?
You will begin the course getting to know your teacher Adriana Torres better, who will talk to you about her career in the world of needle and thread and show you her greatest sources of inspiration.
Next, you will embroider a sample book with all the stitches that you will learn in the course. Step by step, you'll experiment with different stitches, thread thicknesses, and stitch sizes. You will also see how to embroider in the air with stitches separated from the fabric.
Then, you will go on to give life to your character. As an example, Adriana will create an elephant Buddha. You will transfer the sketch to the fabric and embroider the body, giving it relief. Next, you will make the head, ears and trunk and add some details.
The time will come to embroider the element that accompanies the character, in this case, a lotus flower. First you will shape the center, the base and the pistils, and then embroider the petals and assemble the flower. Finally, you will see how to prepare the fabric for framing.
